Challenge
Previously, Ace Hardware's paint department was anchored by the long-time respected brand, Benjamin Moore. In 2013, Valspar edged it's way in as the category leader and independent store owners were skeptical of the change, fearing consumers would not engage with a new paint brand.

Strategy
Sell ideas and inspiration, not paint. Create a world-class, premium paint destination that reinvents the color selection experience and encourages consumers to linger. Champion Valspar to independent store owners to get them on board.

Execution
Created a clean, sophisticated paint display to engage the consumer in their color selection process. Launched 3 new products with new packaging design. Created inspiration collateral to help consumers design the home of their dreams.
